Congratulations to the VCHS Math Team who won first place among the top 75 high schools and 289 students at the Math League High School National Championships on June 13, 2020.
For the second year in a row, the team earned first place in this national contest. Last year, the national championships were held at the University of Missouri. This year, the competition was online.
Earlier this spring, eighteen students qualified for nationals and have spent countless hours practicing and preparing. In addition to the overall team win, Kyle Lee, Allison Lam, Vittal Thirumalai, Janet Qian, Brad Zeng, and Alex Gu also placed first in the Power Round.
We are extremely proud of the amazing team and individual accomplishments and grateful for the exceptional guidance provided by the Program Managers, Mrs. Claudia Smith and Dr. Theodore Shim.
